Cole Cabiness is an accomplished director, choreographer, arts educator, filmmaker, and performer with extensive experience in theatre and dance.
As a director and choreographer, Cole has led numerous successful productions. His creative portfolio includes work on musicals such as High School Musical, Aladdin JR., Godspell, The SpongeBob Musical, Shrek the Musical, Mary Poppins JR., Newsies, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, among others.
A multifaceted artist, Cole holds a Bachelor's degree in Arts Communication (Creative Media & Theatre) and a Master's in Business Administration with a specialization in Film through the CREATE Path program at The University of Alabama. His professional experience includes performing with Red Mountain Theatre in Birmingham, Alabama, and working extensively as a freelance director, choreographer, and arts instructor for various theatre groups, schools, and studios.
Cole's expertise in dance, particularly tap, has been cultivated through training with renowned choreographers including Billy Porter, Paul Canaan, James Kinney, and Sara Brians. His dedication to dance education began at age fifteen when he started teaching private tap lessons, later expanding to studio instruction. His teaching philosophy emphasizes creating positive learning environments and fostering a love for the artistic process.
As a filmmaker, Cole has already made significant strides with his directorial debut 'Opening Number,' which earned the Achievement in Pandemic Filmmaking Award and was a finalist for the Holle Award for Excellence in Filmmaking at The University of Alabama.
